Request: Special Exception in A-2 zone for accessory dwelling unit (second residence for Mrs. Tirado's parents).

Decision: Approved

Hearing: The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages 82 and 83. Several commentaries were received in favor of the request. One commentary was received in opposition; the opposition stated his family would be building a very large house across the street from the applicant's and were concerned the presence of the small house would hurt property values. In response to this concern, the applicant relocated the house further inward to the property (about twice the distance as originally proposed), behind a cluster of trees. Also, the driveway to the second unit was eliminated, tying it into the driveway serving the main house. The BZA felt that the modifications to the house location and driveway would remedy the concern the property owner across the street. There was no opposition at the public hearing.
