Summary of the decision
SE-03-03-015 — AARON GOROVITZ, AGENT FOR NOAH'S SELF-STORAGE FACILITY/Cont. 4-3-03
Request: Special Exception in C-1 (retail commercial) zone to construct a self-storage facility (No outdoor storage proposed or allowed). (NOTE: This case was continued by the BZA on 3/6/03 to address issues relating to the wall, landscaping and hours of operation).
Decision: Approved
Hearing: The Staff Report and Recommendation is located on Pages ____. This case was continued from last month to allow the applicant to meet with the residents to address the hours of operation, the perimeter wall and the proposed landscaping. The applicant met with the residents on April 1, 2003. The applicant proposed a 9 foot high masonry wall between the buildings on the north and west. They submitted a detailed landscape plan and presented their new hours of operation. Two (2) neighbors spoke in opposition. One of the neighbors had concerns about a proposed landscape island that the District #2 County Commissioner had previously discussed with the resident. She wanted to ensure this request would not jeopardize the landscape island. The other neighbor had concerns about the hours of operation. The BZA felt the applicant compromised enough considering any other commercial user would not have the same restrictions.
