Summary of the decision

SE-99-12-007 — John & Cicely Poleon

Request: Special Exception in R-1 zone for children's day care center (up to 14 children).

Decision: Denied

Hearing: The applicant wants to convert an existing residence into a child day care center for up to 14 children. Staff presented its report. Staff could not support the request because the site is too small to accommodate drop-offs/pick-ups, maneuverability, stacking of vehicles, and buffers. In addition, staff received information from Development Engineering which indicated they would not permit a new access point onto Clarcona-Ocoee Road. The BZA agreed with staff. The site was too small for a day care center. They suggested the applicant find a larger site. A neighbor to the east spoke in opposition. Staff received one (1) commentary in opposition.
